The service was nice. The atmosphere was nice, clean, and comfortable. The food portions were very good, but my food was all burned. The fish was burned, sweet potato fries burned, onion strips extra greasy, and the food had no seasoning...just not tasty at all. Because of the portion s the price was fair, but because of the taste, it was a waste of money. Price per person $20–30 Food: 1 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4

Great local restaurant and bar. First time visiting and we definitely enjoyed it. The staff was very friendly and engaging. We enjoyed some good karaoke while sampling a few appetizers and a very good main course. We enjoyed the blackwater bites and cajun chips with seafood dip appetizers. The main course was blackened red fish and boiled shrimped platter and both were outstanding in both taste and quantity. I’ve seen a lot of reviews about the price being high but it is absolutely not overpriced and the prices we paid were very fair. We definitely will be back again to sample more great food and enjoy some good karaoke. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Accidentally found this place, hidden behind lake serene grocery but it’s like finding a treasure chest! It’s a fun atmosphere, excellent service, food is good just a little pricey! Karaoke was entertaining but they just need to play something besides country music. I will definitely be coming back Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Blackwater Bites

A friend and myself dined at Black Waters restaurant and enjoyed every two and a half hours of our experience. We went on a Thursday around 7pm and there was live music. The chef came to our table and asked how things were. How welcoming! Plan on dining there soon for the redfish. Thanks! The worst service I have ever experienced. We had a party of 12, 7 of us are servers and 2 work in the restaurant business. Of the bat the sever was the rudest server. Inconvenienced by our presence. We called ahead to let them know we were coming and if we were such an inconvenience they should have told us they cannot accommodate us. This explains the reason they have no business. The list can go on and on about all the bad things that happened and about this place. No wonder they have to put 20% gratuity on there or they would make no money. That server doesn’t deserve a cent. On top of that they tried to make us pay for food that we had to send back due to a hair being in the food, which we didn’t want replaced. Also tried to charge us of pickles that we never received. If you choose to go here good luck you’ll get terrible service and leave highly unhappy. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
Went here for raw oysters only. They came out on a plate for hot food with ice melted almost completely. Our oysters were room temp at best. And they had some kinda green stuff sprinkled all over them. Raw oysters literally has to be the easiest dish to fix. Open them and sit them in plenty of ice. Optional toppings on the side. Very simple. We told the waitress they were warm. She says she'll tell guy in back. He pokes his head from the kitchen...That's all. We paid and left. Never again...warm raw oysters 🤮 Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $20–30

This was the first time we had been here before and I can definitely say we will be back. Although they are a little pricey we definitely enjoyed our food and drinks. Our waitress was also very nice and made sure we where good every time she walked by. My one complaint would be with the seafood plater is was more French frys than anything and we didn't find out till after we got out food that they where out of stuffed crabs. But all in all we will definitely be back.
Service was great, but that's about it. We had an order of Gator balls, they were gummy. The Natchez Filet was over priced for what it was, salty so much so that any spice that was in the sauce was over powered. I had the green beans and asparagus, which were also way over salted. Hubs had a steak, with salad and baked potato. Salad had little to no tomatoes, croutons were nothing more than lightly toasted bread that were chewy not crunchy. The potato needed another 5 minutes in the oven to be perfect. For the food that we had, they were way over priced. Don't see us going back any time soon.

I've now eaten at this place over a dozen times and can confirm it's a hidden gem. A lot of places have gone through this location. None of them as good as this one. Not everything on the menu is amazing, but the stuff that is good, is extremely good. Let's start with the best: -The burger is literally the best burger you will find in Hattiesburg. It's so good it doesn't even need condiments. It's the quality of the ingredients that make the difference. -The grilled fish - every thing here is very good and the sides are also excellent. Fresh grilled asparagus, grilled green beans, full loaded baked potatoes. They do it right here. No short cuts. Nothing out of a can or premade. These are the two best categories on the menu in my opinion, but the rest of the menu is also solid. The Steak Tips with the creole sauce are great. The fried seafood is solid (but I with the tartar sauce was a bit better quality). The shrimp boil is great, even better now that they added flavored butter options. I've explored the menu pretty throughly and never had anything I'd consider bad. But trust me on the burgers. They are amazing. Best in the area, hands down. -
