The location is excellent and has some great scenery. A must visit in Paarl. The food itself was delicious and exceeded expectations. Service was good too and plenty of seating was available. We didn't need to make a reservation but plenty of seats were available when we visited. Great atmosphere here! Stunning restaurant! Had an amazing lunch - quality food and GREAT portions (we couldn't finish our food). Beautiful dining experience sitting between the vineyard, with a 180° view overlooking Paarl. DEFINITELY returning to try everything! Beautiful place. We sat at a table that had an amazing view of Paarl and the mountains. Service was good, waitress was friendly and helpful. Meals were prepared well and were tasty. The only issue was the flies which can be an annoyance. Would definitely recommend going here, especially for the great view. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

We went to Blacksmiths on a very chilled spring day and what a great experience! Very well priced and excellent selection of wines. Their foccacia has a beautifully thin crust and perfect amount of toppings fora starter. For mains I had the beef burger with mushroom sauce on the side, delicious. The husband had the ribs which was a very generous portion, big enough to share. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person R 500+ Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes Burger

It felt as if management was on leave tonight. 4 waiters for the entire restaurant and no one to receive incoming customers. Incoming customers had to stand and wait for an available waiter to meet them. Food was below average, had a steak and salad. In the salad there were more onions than anything else (was basically an onion salad). As if the onions were used to make the plate look full. I blame management for the lack of waiters and for the waiter's nonchalant behavior. Atmosphere was just okay, no ambiant music or anything else. Blacksmith's was recommended to us by a friend and it truly is a wonderful setting and it was the ideal place to celebrate my daughter's 21st birthday with the whole family. On the menu mention was made of a long wait on the freshly prepared food so we were anticipating just that. The service was spot on and it was impressive that the food for our large table was served all at once. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person R 200–250 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

What a beautiful place. We just stopped in for a coffee and we were blown away. The service was great and the venue spotless. To sit on the veranda was just so peaceful and magical. Loved it and will go back to taste the wine. Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
We celebrated my birthday at Blacksmith's Kitchen on Sunday, April 30, and what a lovely experience it was. I was flying back to Johannesburg that afternoon so we arrived at 10:45 am which is 15 minutes before the restaurant opens. However, the wait staff welcomed us in a very cordial manner despite the inconvenience, which was surprising. (In my experience, arriving before opening time results in being chased away by disgruntled staff.) This impressed me. The restaurant is set in tranquil surroundings above vineyards which I found instantly relaxing. We had not booked a table and all of those that seemed to be in prime spots were reserved. This was not a problem, however, as all of the tables provide the same exquisite view of the mountains of Paarl. We sat under a massive and ancient tree (Oak, if I remember correctly) and time seemed to stand still for a bit. I enjoyed a glass of wine and we ordered falafel to start. The dish was fairly good but the caprese pizza that followed was excellent. I enjoyed being seated at a large wooden table in magnificent surroundings. Blacksmith's Kitchen is a very special venue which proved to offer really good value for money that even ordinary South Africans can enjoy; this is unusual. The restaurant staff were very kind, attentive and efficient. I hope to visit again soon. Knowing Paarl quite well, I was amazed that I hadn't heard of the Blacksmith Kitchen before. This is definitely a hidden gem! Located in Northern Paarl on the Pearl Mountain Wines wine estate, you have amazing views of the valley and town below. The restaurants' interior isn't very large, however they do have a covered outside seating area which also takes advantage of the views. I decided to go for the Lamb Shank and my wife went with the Chicken Parmesan with Risotto, and both of us really enjoyed the food. One recommendation I can give them is to expand their wine list slightly to include more of the local wines as well as craft beers, but overall we had a great time.
