Something for EVERYONE! I had the London Road Burger which is EASILY one of the best I've ever had in my life. My mom got a steak which was incredible as well. And then you got their cocktails and desserts which were just phenomenal. Highly recommend the Wave of Passion Chocolate Cake and the Lemon Cake! Our service was perfect too. Drinks and food came out very quickly. We will be coming here every time we come up north!!! I had my book launch/signing party (for my book Suck Less at Love: “She Said, He Said Advice on Relationships”) in the back room that has all the windows that overlook Lake Superior. I love Black Woods! They’re always so good to me. We had our own server for the event, and he made sure all of my guests had what they needed, he checked in with me continuously throughout my event, and Kristy the manager was super responsive and made sure we had everything we needed. I’d definitely recommend Black Woods for your event or even for dinner. I’m never disappointed there, and the food and service are top notch 🫶🏼 If you’re in Duluth, this restaurant is a must visit! This place is amazing, the food was outstanding and the service was perfect. Started with the Tater tot appetizers. The agate sauce is a nice compliment. Tried the Chicken Schnitzel, the portion was huge! The Salted Carsmel Cheesecake was a great way to finish the night. Would def come back and have a steak. Drove 3 hours to tour the Glensheen Mansion and decided to take our group of 12 here for dinner afterwards. The only positive thing I can say was our server was great (We tipped him well). Never been to a restaurant where everyone hated the food. Overcooked fish, cold vegetables, mashed potatoes tasted like they came out of a box, pasta sauce was gross and bland, soup was cold and bland, pot roast was better at the nursing home my grandmother lives in and my cocktail tasted like syrup even though I ordered it with premium bottle tequila. Got comped for half the bill, but the manager added extra orders of things so it really wasn’t a comp. Never been to a worse restaurant. Alot of options, and everything is made very well. I had a Salmon Burger, and my friend had the Bison burger, both were great! The staff were very helpful and accommodating. This was my first time here. I came with my friend who highly recommended the cheese curds. They did not disappoint! They’re a MUST! We ordered the rotisserie chicken meal and the meat loaf meal. None of our food came hot except for the Wild Rice Chicken Soup. The beef and chicken gravies had very little flavor. The Wild Rice Chicken Soup had very little chicken in it and the broth tasted strongly of flour. Now, for the 5* part: The cornbread! We loved it and the flavored butter served with it. Stopped in and ate with my wife. We ate at the bar, so there was no wait. Ordered the Bulldog Bites and the steak was really tender with a nice dipping sauce for the onion rings. We each had a bowl of soup, chili and chicken dumpling (both very good flavor) and they came with a piece of cornbread that was fantastic. First time in my 54 year old life I have enjoyed cornbread. Food was excellent, restaurant is beautiful and service was amazing. All in all an excellent time. Very accommodating for my aunt’s wheelchair.
