Have to stop into Black Salt anytime I’m in Blacksburg, always get consistent quality. Hard to pick a favorite on the menu, Djaj sandwich and spicy cheese curds are a must! Went for a double cheeseburger today and it was so flavorful and juicy, def recommend black salt!

D'Jaj Fried Chicken Sandwich
Lovely little place. My wife and I both got burgers and enjoyed them ☺️ limited menu, but what they have, they do well.
Customer service was great, very friendly and helpful.
Order the spicy cheese curds if you can!

Black Salt Cheeseburger
Food was ok. Chicken sandwich was average, house sauce has nice flavor. Hamburger had great taste. Seasoned fries were good. Cheese curds were delicious. Portions are extremely small compared to your average restaurant. Prices are very high in general but definitely based on portion size, soda & water have theme park pricing. Menu is very limited and only has a few items. They no longer sell boneless wings as advertised. Seats are metal and not comfortable. Outside of a burger this wouldn’t be a place I would frequent.

Cheese Curds
Sooooo glad I finally got to try this spot! Came here twice so far and it was perfect both times. This place has the BEST cheese curds and they have a spicy option (my favorite). The hamburger I got the first time was perfectly cooked and the chicken sandwhich is juicy with a crispy outside. I saw a review where someone complained about the way you order inside the store- seriously? The order kiosk allows you to see the full menu and customize your order in a timely manner. Plus there is always someone there if you have questions. One of the best places to eat in Blacksburg.

Oh my goodness. Wow. I wish I had a bigger stomach so I could eat more of this food. Echoing alllll the other reviews praising this place. I got the double cheeseburger, absolutely worth it. The fries were so crispy and seasoned well. Seriously, I’ll be back for the chicken sandwich and cheese curds, I need to try them. I tried to come here once over a year and an half ago and they were closed, despite their site saying they were open. I wish I had given them another try a long time ago. They’ve got one of the best burgers in Blacksburg. The one person working was very kind and answered all of my questions. Cute/funny interior, it’s really baffling that there wasn’t at least one other person there, even with students being gone for the summer. Trust me, just try them. I had more than enough fries (re: reviews mentioning 16 fries exactly…lol. Valid concern but I almost couldn’t finish my portion, so no worries there!) and everything was made fresh in front of me. Yes, you order on the tablet, but just tip dude. Just do it. Someone is working hard to make you delicious food, don’t be weird and just tip! This is the first review I’ve written and I’m proud it’s for this place, 5+ stars and damn good. Come on NRV!

BlackSalt Cheese Burger and Fries
A restaurant should take pride in what it serves and if I’m going to a restaurant I should be getting something that I couldn’t otherwise make at home.
The black bean burger was nothing more than a store bought frozen patty, I expected more from a place whose primary menu item are burger's. Equally, my friend’s burger was so small it could hardly be called a burger. The buns the burger’s came on were the cheapest buns they could have gotten, even White Castle has better buns. I’ve never been so disappointed in a burger. If you’re going to make a burger place, make your own burgers and get high quality buns.
Disappointing French fries as well, the only reason why this isn’t one star is because the fried pickles seemed to at least be home made.
When you order, you have to put your name in and you think they would use your name to call out your order, but they don’t. They use a number assigned to you when you check out, so if you don’t happen to catch the number when you check-out, you may miss your order being called. Lastly, whether you choose to dine-in or not you still get your order in a styrofoam container. It’s absurd to be using styrofoam in 2024, not to mention it was banned in Virginia in 2021.
Save your money and go somewhere else.
Amazing food and service. We ordered everything on the menu and our favorite was the Cheeseburger and the spicy CHEESE CURDS!
The owner and staff paid careful attention to the menu and how the burger is prepared: a delightful crust on the bottom of the patty that is not void of juiciness!
Highly recommend!

The chicken sandwich was very tasty, the fried pickles are in thin chips and a little overly salty but the sweet pepper dipping sauce made up for it. It was dead silent when I walked in though and made me think they might be closed. None of the employees said a word to me and it felt very awkward dining in alone. Some quiet music or something would help.

D'Jaj Fried Chicken Sandwich
We came here for the cold opening with a menu limited to just burgers. I got the classic cheeseburger with sauteed onions and shared some cheese fries. The food was very good and about the same price as Five Guys. Definitely coming back after the grand opening. They did a lot with an old laundromat!
Best burger ever!! Juicy on the inside with a little crisp outside- my favorite kind of burger. The sauce tied it all together. Fries were crisp and seasoned perfectly
