A touch of Modern India, worth the trip.
Offers a small but upscale intimate setting. Service is courteous. They pay attention to details, and we will go out of their way to accommodate guests. Food is fancy and good. They also offer a range of vegetarian options.

Chicken Tikka Masala
An amazing menu of authentic treats to satisfy any craving. The place is inviting with welcoming staff and great food. For me it was the best Indian food I have had in and anywhere close to the St Louis area. The entrées are very rich in flavor, large portions, and so addictive you will just keep eating. This place was suggested to me by an Indian colleague who did not steer me wrong. I can’t eat Indian food anywhere else now because I know for me this is the spot.

Rosemary Naan
Really delicious Indian food. Everything had a beautiful presentation and was super flavorful. Can adjust the level of spice but nothing was bland.
We had two vegetarian appetizer dishes, a chicken dish, and paneer. Everything was really good. One complaint on food was the naan was nothing special - very thin and more like roti.
We were greeted by I presume the owner who was very friendly and helpful in recommendations. He recommended the signature cocktail which was delicious - basically a spicy margarita with mint.
Two things I’d recommend to the business - the wait staff, while friendly, seemed a bit timid and inexperienced. We had no designated waiter so we weren’t sure who to flag down for our orders. Another issue, which is more a space problem than anything done wrong, was the restaurant had no real entry way. This created issues when the door was constantly being open and cold January air was rushing into the restaurant. I had to eat dinner with my winter coat on as we were in a booth right by the door. Again, this is a seasonal problem, and speaks to the high traffic in the restaurant but maybe some curtains or something to hold in the heat would help.
Overall highly recommend for a great Indian meal.

From the moment you step through the doors, you are greeted with warmth and gracious hospitality. The place was crowded on Friday evening, and we had to wait for close to 20 minutes. But it turned out to be worth the wait.
The menu is thoughtfully designed and offers a wide range of varieties, yet with limited options in each category, especially on the vegetarian side. The palak chaat and tomato tulsi shorba was wow and appeared to be specially designed for our
palates. The entrees were great; the quality and freshness of ingredients were quite evident. The portion size was decent too. On the dessert side, we enjoyed Paan and Gulkand Mousse. Overall, Black Salt offers an experience that is nothing short of extraordinary. We will be visiting again!

My colleague and I had a delightful lunch experience at Black Salt Indian. The ambiance was inviting, service was great and the food was very good. We started with refreshing and tasty Fresh Lime Soda, which set the tone for the meal.
For appetizers, we indulged in the Teen Mirch Malai Paneer Tikka, which was a flavorful treat. The Vegetables Thali offered a great variety of options, and each dish was deliciously prepared.
We're already looking forward to our next visit, but we'll be sure to make a reservation ahead of time to secure a table.

I’ve had many dishes here, and they are undoubtedly flavorful.
Lamb chops are not the best I’ve had, nor would they rate in my top 5, but the sauce they come in is delicious.
My servers were incredibly attentive, and I have nothing but high regard for them!

Lamb Biryani
We had a great lunch at Black Salt in Chesterfield. Since it was our first time we went with the Lunch Thali. It was a great way to try a variety of dishes even though there were only 2 of us. The naan was fresh, warm and tasty. My wife had the black salt specialty cocktail with gin and it was very complex and flavorful. The dining area was clean and tastefully decorated and the staff was friendly and helpful. We plan to return for a dinner experience.

The menu is huge and everything we tried was wonderful. Everything is large enough to share. Of course we over order because we couldn’t choose just one to have lunch leftovers!

Roti
Detailed Genuine Review - Me along with my friends all had 1 similar thought that food was not that great. We had tried both veggie and non veg food. especially the Tikka Masala Gravy was used for most of the Gravy’s and the Butter masala Gravy had so much red food color that even after washing our hands with soap we still had the red color stuck.
Secondly with respect to service we did not had a great experience bcoz starter/appetiser came after main course. Secondly even roti’s ordered before finish of our existing basket did not came on time, simple onion and lemon came after we finished eating roti that too they charged 4$ for that. In st louis area i have never paid for onion and Lemon. Its ok but its not fair to get it late and that too first he takes order and then later he comes back and says it is chargeable. Also they did lot of hurry during closing hours they were standing near to us so that we finish our food. 2 different ppl came and smartly said we are about to close if u want to order then quickly order it. I felt the lady there was bit rude and was more busy on phone then looking at the customers.
Atmosphere is good but the place is very very small. I was not sure how come such small place for Dine-in restaurant.
They have ingredients to become a good restaurant just make things right. I have also had a restaurant in India so this is based on my experience.

This is our first visit to this restaurant. The ambiance warm and the food is delicious. We ordered chicken biriyani and lamb rogan josh. The rogan Joan is very delicious, it has a very nice tangy taste and the meat was super tender. They serve adequate quantity. Will definitely come back and recommend to our friends.
