The mussels were amazing. The prime rib was not so much. The asparagus was cold. The meat was luke warm. What I thought was au jus was a heavy peppered sauce, and the white sauce was horseradish. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $10–20 Food: 3 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
We went to Blackhorse for date night and it was... MEH. There was a table full of high school students there for a formal night of some sort, which is all well and good. They were respectful, but running around the restaurant barefoot. Ick. Our server was very sweet, but not attentive. People who came in after us were served well before us. When she walked by and realized we were still waiting, and had empty drinks (which had been for a good 15 to 20 minutes) she let us know our food would be out soon. Another 10 minutes go by and out food finally came to the table, about an hour after we ordered. Our food was cold. My salmon had great flavor, but was room temperature, and my asparagus was like limp noodles and no crisp left in them, it was also colder than the fish. My fiancé ordered the beef stroganoff which was also cold and the sauce had separated. The steak in his meal was over cooked and very chewy, and the onions had become slimy. We would only assume the food was left under the "warming light" for far too long. I guess we should have stuck to the reviews and trusted them instead of hoping they were wrong. Sadly, this is a one and done for us. Food: 1 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3

Wow the owner Andrie is so kind. The staff is so friendly and accomodating to small or large groups of dinners. The Black Horse offers a salad bar every night of the week. The shrimp and fish are my favorites, the portion size is very good. This is a hidden gem. Great gathering place, great event space, you can enjoy the food at the bar or in the restaurant area. If you bring kids you can sit in the restaurant area and not feel as if you are in a bar.
