I love Black- eyed Pea. Last time I went was before they closed the one in Albuquerque 20 years ago so I was excited to go. Service was fair. Food wasn't near as good as I remember and I was a regular when I lived in ABQ. The place is a bit run down and needs a face lift. Me and my wife and granddaughter went in Sunday after church it was crowded but not bad 7 min. wait or shorter. I got the best waitress they have and the only one left from the first time we came in 6 yrs ago she was great as usual. the food is still very good not overly salty so it works for us older crowd. We love this place - we frequent the Tuesday kids eat free. Food is always hot, fresh, and tasty. Just good home cooking. DONNA is absolutely amazing - probably the most friendly server we have ever had, anywhere. She alone keeps us coming back every week. Thank you! I've had great service from the two servers we have had. We have been 4 or 5 times in the last 6 months. All good experiences. We didn't want to wait on New Years Day, so we went elsewhere, but we always enjoy the food, and the service is top-notch. Watch the gravy... it can be a little salty. Get it on the side to be safe.
