I love the concept of this place, I really do. I'm typically into fusion food, especially when it combines Asian and American foods creatively, which Bites Restaurant tries to do with their eclectic and diverse menu. However, I think that Bites fails to do so cohesively and in a tasty manner, at least from my personal experience. I ate here with my friend who would describe the kimchi burger as okay, but I was not a fan of the udon soup at all. I'm fine with things not being authentic, but I thought that it was just bland besides an overwhelming taste of too-salty soy sauce. I did enjoy the green bean tempura, however. Service was okay, nothing special or overly friendly, and not as accommodating as I would have liked. Food came out pretty quickly. The restaurant wasn't super clean and my table had a fly buzzing around it. This is definitely not a place I would recommend to anyone. Price per person $10–20 Food: 2 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 2
So a few things to say here. Got here around 12:30pm on a Thursday, expected them to be at least slightly busy. No one inside at all except two older ladies who had just arrived. There was one worker there seating them and us. It seemed like there was another person there who disappeared almost immediately. The person working told us he was actually a cook, who had been left there by himself, and he wasn't sure about waiting on tables, but would his best. We ordered quickly, and he went back and started cooking. We had the Korean boneless chicken wings, chicken tacos, and my wife had a burger. The wings were fantastic. Literally perfect. I could eat a couple of orders. Perfect balance of heat and sweet. My chicken tacos were also perfect. Loved them. The Chipotle sauce was a great complement to them. The kimchi fries stole the show. I'd go back just to get them and the wings. My wife liked her burger too. I didn't try it, although it looked good. So- the weird thing is nobody else was working. 3 or 4 more tables arrived as we were finishing, same guy doing everything. Props to him for being a hard worker and a great cook. Management obviously needs some help. Price per person $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3

Eclectic, cool eatery with very nice decor, and varied menu. Not exactly a tapas place as described by Google though, but irrelevant. It's a great place to eat with many interesting choices, expertly prepared. The tempura shrimp tacos, in particular, were fabulous, and the chicken donburi bowl was excellent as well. Service is very fast and efficient. This is a popular place, so seating can be limited at times. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Tempura Shrimp Tacos

I held a special Birthday Event for Mom's 80th at Bites and had a fabulous time! About 35 guests from the local area some had been at Bites before some were new to Bites. All had a great time! We chose special menu items, the host and cooks keep us fed with warm and delicious dishes throughout the time of our party. The calamari was special, crab bites amazing, cheese tots, mozz cheese egg rolls, everything was a delight. I can't wait to have another meal again at Bites next time I am in Forest Grove. Came here to try the burger at lunchtime 2/29/2024. I noticed that they had a Chicken Teriyaki Burger. Apparently, this is a chicken sandwich, so I asked to substitute a beef patty. It was not too difficult, but that did not happen. That is not the reason for the 3 stars. When I received my sandwich, the chicken "breast" was super thin and way overcooked. Not the end of the world. But also on the sandwich was a small square piece of chicken that was completely separate from the breast. This piece was inedible and so overcooked that shoe leather would have been easier to bite through. My only question is, did you think I wouldn't notice? I didn't want to send it back. Either way, it wasn't the best experience. The service was great, and the fries were great, though. Price per person $10–20 Food: 1 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5
The woman who served us was incredibly sweet and knowledgeable about the menu. I ordered the Korean Chicken Salad, and aside from some crunchy noodles and the Asian-inspired dressing, it was just a salad. It would have benefited from Korean-spiced chicken. My husband got the salmon burger and tots. He liked it and appreciated the hefty portion. I would have ordered the molten chocolate cake, but it was $11 and I couldn't bring myself to order a dessert that would almost double the cost of my meal. Not sure why this was so high when most of the meals were reasonably priced. Anyway, I would go back for the service and the eclectic menu.
My only question about this restaurant is why I’m able to come in and get a seat any time I show up. It is consistently amazing fusion food and outstanding friendly service. It deserves to have every seat filled and a line out on Main St. waiting to get in. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Just tried Bites for the first time. This place is confusing. The concepts behind the fusions are great, the execution and flavor pairing aren’t so great. Burgers weren’t served with a side. You had to buy an appetizer if you wanted fries. The staff was welcoming and kind. The place looks nice. There is a mural on the wall that better describes the types of food being served. There is nice lighting, and the physical space would be great for gatherings. Noise control in the restaurant was not great or conducive to conversations. The main speakers were blasting Christmas music, however the staff in the kitchen was blasting different music and the Emergency Exit sign was making clicking noises. Between the three different loud noises and other customer conversations, it didn’t make the experience great. Our food experience wasn’t great. I personally did not enjoy the meal. This place would not be my first pick to return to for a meal out. This restaurant has some great things going for it, like location, and a cute style. If the menu could be figured out and some of the strange pairings taken off I think they’d have a much better chance at survival. Price per person $20–30 Food: 1 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 1
