Food was mostly tasty. The sushi was good. The chicken teriyaki was mid. The tempura was bad, like really bad. Worst I’ve had in a while. Was was lukewarm and undercooked. Sort seemed like it had been sitting for a while. The other problem was they used a boat to place all the sushi we ordered which looked cool but they ended up squishing sushi together, not cool. And they forgot the finger and wasabi. Service however was very good, prompt and friendly. Bathroom was very clean. WOW! 10 stars for this restaurant! We were visiting the area for a couple days and this sushi place was close to where we were staying. We were blown away by the quality of the food as well as the excellent service! We started with the jalapeno appetizer, which was delicious! We ordered a lobster roll and a spicy crunch roll for our main course. The presentation was lovely and both rolls were fresh and flavorful. My husband had the tempura ice cream for dessert and he loved it. We can't wait to visit Big Fish Sushi again on our next visit to the Bothell area! We have been here many times. On our first visit we bought several rolls, which came out on a sushi boat! On our next visit we each got teriyaki (1 got steak, 1 got chicken) and it was the best teriyaki i've ever had (and i am native to Seattle), both in flavor and texture; the sauce was clearly made on site with fresh ingredients, and the meat was so lovely and tender instead of charbroiled dry. We've brought a few friends there over the last 7 months and have never been disappointed. I highly recommend them! Quiet and Friendly place. Seating was open and the place was 1/3 full on a Monday late afternoon/early evening. 2 servers on staff that were friendly and helpful. The food was fresh and tasted amazing. A definite go to. They had several pick up orders that went out while I was there as well. Price was average for this type of Restaurant. Among other issues, the cucumber and eel roll we ordered was inedible. The roll was falling apart, there wasn't nearly enough rice, the cucumber was mushy and tasted old, and the Eel was SO foul that it tasted like smelliest parts of the Seattle Wharf. We had to throw it out. When I called to inform the staff of this, I felt as though they only listened to one of the many complaints I had, and focused entirely on the cucumber being bad. I then heard them YELL at the staff about this issue in a different language, which I find upsetting because I now can't verify if they are mistreating or verbally abusing their staff. In addition to this, I asked to be compensated for this roll, since we were unable to eat it. The person I spoke to agreed to this, and informed me it would take 5-7 business to receive our funds back. It has since been 5 business days, and I am beginning to suspect that the refund process was never actually initiated. I will be happy to amend my review when, and if, I am proven wrong. Great sushi place in Bothell. We had the mussels, pork gyoza, pork Ramen, crispy crunch roll, kiss of fire, & volcano roll and all was great and the perfect amount for 2 people. We also had sparkling sake, which I've never had before, also great. Pricing was about what I expect for sushi this quality so no complaints. Staff was also very attentive and service was quick. My wife and I came here on a Tuesday evening 6pm. Easy parking, restaurant was about 2/3rds full. Pet store next door had customer with a roided Pit Bull that could kill Rambo - scary. We've come here many times. Service is always quick to the table. The chopsticks and dishes here are really nice and have a cool design. Look closely at the chopsticks for the inlaid fish. We ordered the lobster deluxe roll, vegetable tempura meal (w/miso, salad, rice), spicy tuna roll. We drank water. It took about 10 mins to get our food, not bad in this end of town. The miso soup was great, with the right amount of flavor. Tempura was light, with yams, squash, and a few other veggies. Always a treat to have unique vegetables here. The small salad was ice cold with a sweet/sour white dressing. The lobster roll was made tight and with a crisp presentation. The spicy tuna roll wasn't all that spicy tonight, it's safe if you don't like spicy. I like it more firm and tight, overall 3/5 on this tuna roll. Ginger and wasabi were on the sides of both rolls. We paid $38 for the meal and it was a lot of food to eat. Service was attentive, they're always nice and on task, not talkative. The cons? Their front door is near the tables and has no windbreak. Today we got blasted every Door Dash driver in and on the way out. We always dress warmer when we come here in winter. On really warm days this place can get toasty. The table area is tight, the central booths are the best place to sit. Clean place, solid service, and high quality sushi. Far better than Sushi Zone down the road. This is our choice locally for sushi. J. Delicious sushi and good prices. The rolls were a very good size and we ate absolutely everything. Definitely a good place to try!
🎖Our first time at this restaurant. 🔹The sushi was delicious — we ordered California rolls, Philadelphia rolls, and Cucumber rolls. 👍🏼 The Kid’s Chicken Katsu Bento box was good. 🔹The seaweed salad was the BEST we had out of all the other restaurants we’ve visited. 🔻But we rate their ramen only at 2-stars. The broth wasn’t tasty at all, so my son and I weren’t happy with our ramen orders. He had the Tonkatsu ramen with pork chiasu, while I had the Organic vegetable ramen. The service was fast, friendly and courteous. If you’re only coming for their sushi and katsu, you’ll be happy you did. If you’d like some ramen, I recommend you go elsewhere. Look at my other reviews — I’ve reviewed several other ramen houses. 🙂 Service Dine in
