The bread here is addicting. The scones are the best I've ever had, including a darn good one I had in Ireland once. Today we had chicken salad on rye and a hot pastrami on rye and they were both heavenly. Don't pass this place up. They close before dinnertime, so go early. They're right on the main strip in Clarks Summit, so bring a quarter for the meter. There are tables inside if you want to eat in. It's very casual. My only complaint would be that the place could use a cleaning because it looked like the floors were pretty dirty throughout. Honestly though, the bread here is so good that I don't even care. Nice staff.

This is a great bakery.. this is my dad's goto for bread and we appreciate small business in our town. He can afford the carbs, so he goes there once a week. I noticed that the loaves vary in size depending on his current view of this economy. There's nothing like fresh bread... The best sandwich I have had since I moved up here two years ago. Right up the road from work. Will definitely be a regular.
Edit- food is still great. Service is still rude AF. I hadn’t been back here in a while solely because of the service. Original- The Best Reuben sandwich. Excellent selection of delicious breads. I keep coming back for the Reubens but honestly the customer service is bad. The only one who is pretty good at it is the guy with dreads. The owner, Mike makes an effort. The young woman with short hair is rude. No greetings, constantly complaining about customers, and does not make me (or others from what I’ve heard) feel welcome or like a valued customer. Last time I was there she brought my sandwich out and plopped it on the table and said “I made your sandwich”, with the most unfriendly look on her face and then walked away. It’s too bad because this place could be amazing but it’s honestly uncomfortable. If those sandwiches weren’t so dam good, I’d never come back.

Beta bread has simply the best bread I’ve found yet since leaving NY. We stock up on their baguettes (which freeze beautifully) and their cranberry walnut chicken salad is outrageously delicious. Great folks work behind the counter and I am always greeted like a friend. Happy to be a supporter of one of my favorite local businesses!
