One of the best OG burgers. Prices are amazing food service was fast. Wish the buns were a little more toasted. Definitely delicious whether it be the Chilli cheese fries to Chilli cheese hotdogs. The food is always amazing, hot and delicious. However, the fees are becoming excessive. In May, they implemented a 3% card processing fee. Fine, I will pay with cash. But today I CALLED in my order and paid cash and still was charge some sort of convenience fee. So they are charging BOTH convenience fees and card processing fees. The fee was minimal but it’s just the principal. What a gem of a find this place is. I knew it was going to be good the moment I walked in because of all the locals inhabiting the place. A classic “hole in the wall” blue collar, zero frills burger joint. But I can’t recommend this place enough because their spin on burgers is unique and very tasty. The cut fries are some of the best I’ve ever tasted. Prices are shockingly good so value at this place is 10+. Servers super friendly. Go out of your way to visit. We have enjoyed Bates for 20 years until lately. Burgers are dry and fries are not done. The past 4 times have been the horrible. We did complain to MacKenzie, but she did not accept the criticism. I arrived right before 10:30am for breakfast and was told WE ARE BUSY!! You have to.order lunch! I love Bates but wonder if they would have said that if I were a non-melanated person? Usually great food here but my last visit the fries were undercooked and soggy, and the burgers I asked for extra pickles there was 2 tiny slices of pickle on each burger, and no fried onions or mustard at all.
