Happy hour is where it’s at for this place! Margaritas half priced and they are delicious! Menu prices outside of happy hour are too high for me to dine but I’m sure it’s worth the price because the food here is incredible. This is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in Phoenix. This is the one and only Barrio Cafe in Phoenix. I enjoyed this meal with a native Mexican friend from Mexico City who felt this food and complex combination of flavors would be something you could only typically find in very upscale restaurants in Ciudad de México (previously known as D.F.). Pictured here: Pescado del Mar, a Barrio Classic. Pan seared halibut toppwd with a white wine cream reduction, shrimp, scallops and chorizo. $46 As well as the Filet Mignon estilo "Filete de me Tita" - tamarind port wine sauce, crab, chorizo, chevre cheese and crispy shallots. $49 You won't regret a recommended wine pairing, as well as the world famous Barrio Cafe guacamole freshly prepared table side with pomegranate seeds/arils. Visited this gem for happy hour. The tequilas are 1/2 off, but ends at 5:30pm, so a bit earlier than other happy hours, but worth it. Even if you are there not during HH, the tequila prices are excellent. The food is very good. The service is wonderful.
