Went in with my sister to get baby books. I don't go into bookstores often but when I do I just love the whole experience. The woman who helped us was great. Need to go more often
Once in a while I get all, corp America/Art world Saga… I would consider this a “Big Box” store in the book world. While it does open people to opportunities/experiences we might not have known existed… it feels as if (much like radio stations) we are offered the “what sells $$” more than the cutting edge… the future. Yes I’m aware there’s only so many tales to tell… man vs man vs nature etc. as I walked through… each display felt like the same story “w a twist”? I suppose it’s all in the marketing… so I become irritated a bit. Still… I wasn’t looking for a book.. to be read right now. But a journal, as a gift to my mother. W/ a note inside asking her to write… anything she wanted to share…. Thoughts she wants us to know and remember. About not only her life as she experienced it but to toss in what she remembers of our family tree… tales we haven’t heard from the family… maybe let her inside voice out just a little. So that when she’s gone…. We have memories.. recorded old school. She’s not going to leave us soon…. I assume. Which gives her ample opportunity to let the idea stew, write a bit.. forget to write a thousand times… and still get scribbles in many of the pages. I was in a hurry… the one I’d ordered hadn’t came in… and I needed a quick fix.sure enough even on my tight budget, I found what I needed. The staff was friendly…. And really what can you really ask of any establishment. lol
I always have a blast at Barnes & Noble! My friend wanted to stop in last night to grab a new book. While there, I found these super cute and unique Alice in Wonderland sticky-notes!

Overall, the environment and selection of books is great. There were books and little knick knacks that were pleasantly surprising. My only complaint is about the Cafe and the occasional rude barista. Just recently, I went to the cafe and the barista seemed (understandably) tired however she took it out on me. While being somewhat rude and unapproachable, she messed up my order initially. When I politely asked her to get me the correct item, she did so, but pulled it out from the display case. Being that I have worked at a Target Starbucks myself, I have never once served a customer items from the display case. Especially an item containing eggs. That is a major Food Health & Safety violation... I was so thrown off by that, I just decided to leave. But to be honest, you should never serve people display items that have been out for hours. It is unfortunate this happened. The bookstore itself is perfect and a great place. Do be mindful of how your Cafe items are being made and sold to you however.
This Barnes and Noble bookstore is clean and well lit. The staff was friendly and knowledgable - quickly helping me find my selection. The bookstore has a vast array of current books, magazines, cards and games

Went to pick up an online order in store to find out it had been canceled as it was “not in stock”. I meanwhile found the item- 3 of them were on the shelf. I had used a gift card which ultimately they did refund me for, however did not get the sale applied that they had going on which was “buy one get one 50% off.” Didn’t even realize this until I had left and not worth the misery of going back in to try and find someone pleasant enough to explain this to. Just taking the L and moving on for the day.

It's a book store and we are a bookworm family! Loved the variety of things apart from books such as family games and activities as well!

I'm used to the Oak Park Mall location so I was really new here. The place smelled soo good (like brownies!) which was probably due to the Starbucks. The aisles are pretty wide and felt uncrowded. The customer support desk was staffed and the young woman was so professional and respectful despite us having questions about some pretty weird sounding books. The line to check out was long but went by so quickly thanks to the wonderful people on the registers. 🙌
They were SO NICE...getting books for me to have signed while I was visiting! Thank you again for helping me!!

I'm a book nerd. I always appreciate the company and the ambience of the locations. Couldn't find the book that I wanted, (I was in the wrong section) but was gladly helped by a staff member. I got what I came for. Happy customer.
