Hands down the best food in Krakow. One of the few places left where you can eat authentic Polish cuisine from the 60's, 70's, and 80's. I stop there every time I visit the city.
The menu changes daily, based on availability, but you can't go wrong with any of the choices. You can go classic (schabowy, ziemniaki) or be creative (jajko sadzone z kasza i szpinakiem), and don't forget the kompot! Their spinach (szpinak) is second to NONE - I have not had better spinach anywhere in the world (or at least 4 continents I tried).
If you visit Krakow but don't stop by Flisak, you are certainly missing out.

I can't recommend this milk bar enough. 10+ stars. Large menu of authentic Polish dishes. Very friendly service. Large homemade portions. The breaded pork is amazing. I still taste the sauerkraut. EXCELLENT milk bar. A+ DEFINITELY recommend.

Great quality to price ratio. In budget friendly way. Place maybe doesn’t look fancy, but the dishes are really tasty. They offer wide range of cheap salads to the dishes too.
A flashback to the days of communist Poland, you will be hit by a wave of nostalgia as you remember how a Soviet era restaurant looks like from photographs during the mid to late 80s. Food is hearty and very cheap. It only costs 56 zlotys for the meal you see below. Although it has an extensive menu, the restaurant runs like a cafeteria. They only serve certain dishes on particular days. Be generous and put a tip on to the counter. They will ask you to pay before receiving your meals so it is easy to forget to add a tip to the total sum.
It's a polish mom and pop place. No wc. Cheap and authentic. Server can speak little English. No English menu on wall, but English menu behind the counter. Cheaper then Mcdonald, but much better. If you never been to a milk bar, you must try at least once. 9 min walk from wawel Castle.
review:
"An authentic Polish bar mleczny that's the real deal! They serve up delicious food and create an amazing atmosphere that takes you back in time. The staff might come off as 'no-nonsense,' but it's all part of the experience (some may mistake it for rudeness). The best part is their super low prices that won't hurt your wallet.
Here, you'll find a diverse mix of patrons - students, hipsters, corpo employees, bums, and professors - all happily sitting together, enjoying their meals side by side.
Highly recommended for anyone seeking a genuine taste of Poland without breaking the bank!

Very good place. Very tasty food. Many options and vegetarian too (pierogi). Good price. The interior is an old fashion PRL style, and i just love that! I wish there was more places like this. Aga (solo traveller)
