Was there for lunch while on a motorcycle ride from LA week of 4th of July 2023. Best ribs hands down I ever had! Jim and his staff are very friendly and had a lot of Elvis stories. Secluded little quaint restaurant in the heart of old down town. Highly recommend!
The food and friendly service are why you come here. Four of us, and two were Italians, loved the food we got. It's kind simple, but that's what makes it good. We all left with fat happy bellies. I am a BBQ nut! We try BBQ wherever we go! Bar-B-Q by Jim was hands down the best! If you ever come to Tupelo Mississippi, you have to stop! We met Him and his daughter! Just real friendly people!
Great spot to get taken care of. The bar b q is smooth and the perfect amount of sweet and sour. This is worth the stop of you're in the area.
We had ribs, chicken, baked beans, potato salad, Cole slaw, biscuits and sweet potatoes. All very good. We saw this and were driving through and thought we'd stop and check it out. Best idea! Very friendly and great food! Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes BBQ Sandwich
I went here based on on the reviews. First, let me say I've had BBQ all over the US and in other places in the world. I am really not that picky. Havidng said that, I will give you the pros & cons of the ribs I had here: Pros: The sweet tea was good. The ribs were subtly seasoned and allowed the flavor of the pork to come through. I liked that Cons: Not much smoke flavor. Ribs over cooked. Only half the meat on the ribs was even edible. The rest was dried out & mummified. I usually try a place a couple times before giving my opinion. But after being disappointed after such glowing reviews, I wont be back. Sorry...
The food was decent, but not worth the extra drive from my home. Bishops is much closer and better in my opinion. One major drawback is that they don't have brisket and their sides are limited. Their potato salad is very good however, just don't get the "baked beans." I swear they are just Pork and Beans with a little extra something added to them.
