I mentioned this restaurant this morning to a friend, and although he implored me not to go, I went anyway. The photos made it look super dicey, but I never shy away from a dive, provided the food's good. The ratings were pretty high, so I figured I'd give it a go because I'll try any place once. This will be a "one and done." First off, driving into the parking lot, it's clear no one's upkept it in years. There are potholes riddling the lot, so proceed with caution. When I walked in, it was apparent the lady who greeted me was hard of hearing and I don't know sign language. This language barrier proved to be an issue when I ordered the mushroom bacon burger and was brought just a bacon cheeseburger. The other brunette woman was super catty and rude when she addressed not only 6 another group of new customers. You could tell it's one of those "if you're not a blue collar regular, we don't want your kind" of restaurants. Coincidentally, the next couple of good ol boys in overalls came in and were treated like royalty. The burger wasn't at all terrible. The cheesy fries were just smothered in Velveeta and paprika, but they, too, were decent. The whole meal cost $12, so it wasn't a bad price. However, the whole place was an absolute nightmare (all the tables were still dirty and sticky when they said to find a seat). Even as I was checking out quick, fast, and in a hurry, I looked frantically for the health inspection score, and I find it convenient that it was nowhere to be found. If I'm not mistaken, it's required to be in plain sight for patrons. Needless to say, it was about the train wreck my friend warned me it would be. Lesson learned.
