Au Bougnat is super-cozy petite french restaurant hidden in the narrow meandering streets of "Île de la Cité". Despite its prominent location.. just a few steps from the gothic towers of Notre Dame.. the prices are not out of proportion at all. They are open from 9 am what makes it excellent choice for some good morning coffee. Design is beautifully old-fashioned and very Parisian. I really admired an ancient cellar lift right in the middle of the front bar :-) Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Very nice surprise! When we were there it looked like we were the only tourists, seems like a hidden gem for the local people. The best onion soup we had while in Paris, without any doubt!
