Very cute dinner. Came here on a whim off the highway. The service was pleasant and the food LARGE. Excellent portions and well priced. The pancakes were delicious and the bread fresh, even at 10pm. This classic diner is a must! We had their lunch special - burger, cup of soup and coffee/soda for $10.99! Quite a bargain considering other places! If you're looking for a classic diner experience, you can't beat the Athenian Diner! We enjoyed their fries, sandwiches, and a vanilla milkshake. The family went to get food after bowling. I had French onion soup which was very good and then ordered an Appetizer trio which was fried mozzarella, zucchini and chicken and was given a side of marinara sauce. I asked for barbecue sauce but even so the chicken tasted very plain as seasoning was missing from it. Two of my children ordered salads which were quite large and others had a cheeseburger, and wrap sandwiches. I think the salad eaters wanted cake instead so carrot cake and cheesecake were ordered. The only issue is that we felt the cheesecake should have come with a fruit topping at least as it was a bit dry. Overall, we were pleased with the service and meal. Thought I would give this place a try and the people are very nice. Here's the problem. The prices in this place are so ridiculously expensive I almost fell off my seat when I got my check. I didn't look at a menu because I was in a rush to sit down, needed to go to work within 25 minutes. I knew what I wanted. A side order of cottage cheese was $5.49 and a side order of bacon is $5. Small cup of coffee $3. The price of the omelette is to be expected which was $15 for a lox and onion omelette. Total price for one breakfast for one person with $30.55 plus tip. They need to really come down to reality. I don't see a big future for them. Besides, the food wasn't monumentally great either. Omelette was very dry And I waited excessively for the breakfast to arrive. The place wasn't crowded either. Come on guys get it together. What a grand place! Service was over the top! Beautiful & friendly! They were also happy to take our photo! Breakfast food mmmmm, small French toast was plenty, but so good I will order the 3 piece next time! Such a wonderful light sweet glaze made it that much better! Well done! Coffee was also a nice surprise after living overseas, I do like it a little hotter personally! Great location, a staple for the locals I'm sure! So I ordered a Cobb salad to go when I got home the only greens in there was large leave spinach… I paid $20 for what? I called spoke to the manager he tells me I can come back treat ppl fair I live very far from Milford … waste of my money!!!
