It was great. Been here a few times but haven’t posted a review until now. Rice is done very good, hot, fresh & high quality. The chicken (meat) here appears a bit sparse but the chunks are plump, large and juicy. I saw that they accept EBT but am running low on benefits so I may try it next month [big sign in front ‘EBT’]. The side salad was a great way to clear the palate. 13.X w/tax [no drink] 3/11/23 Tried Chicken Kabob with EBT “Well they don’t take EBT for hot food I guess?” Owner was very cool, as we went in with only EBT no money. He ended up giving us a full lamb kabob dinner at no charge. When I get paid I’m definitely paying for that meal and getting another plate of this healthy and Delicious food! Thank you for your very honest and benevolent business practices!

I have ate at this restaurant a few times and wasn’t impressed. They changed their cook and menu. All I can say is OMG!!!! Amazing kabobs. I am so impressed that I stopped eating to write a review. I am considered a good cook but after tasting their lamb kabob and how it just melts in your mouth!!! I am speechless. Try the kobidah and lamb kabob!!! Wow. You will not be disappointed!!!!!
If you're looking for authentic Afghan cuisine and hard-to-find spices and snacks, look no further than Afghani Market & Restaurant! This new market and restaurant is a hidden gem in Sacramento, and I absolutely love it. The selection of spices and snacks is truly impressive, and it's clear that the owners take pride in sourcing the best ingredients. I picked up some hard-to-find spices for my own cooking at home, and was delighted to find a variety of delicious snacks to try. But the real star of the show is the food at the restaurant. I ordered the falafel wrap and was blown away by how flavorful and filling it was. The falafel was perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and the wrap was packed with fresh veggies and a delicious sauce. It was easily one of the best falafel wraps I've ever had. The staff at Afghani Market & Restaurant were friendly and welcoming, and it's clear that they care about their customers. The atmosphere inside the market is cozy and inviting, and I could have spent hours browsing the shelves. Overall, I would highly recommend Afghani Market & Restaurant to anyone looking for authentic Afghan cuisine and hard-to-find spices and snacks. The food is amazing, the selection is impressive, and the staff is friendly and welcoming. Don't miss out on this incredible market and restaurant!

We came into this restaurant looking for some epic lunch food (based on other Google reviews), but didn't realize they were in the process of moving to a new location. It was literally their last day there; half the store was already moved out (and they were busy packing up what remained), and the lights had already been turned out in parts of the store. Despite that, they insisted that we follow through with our lunch plans there. So we did, and the food was outstanding. The lamb waa exceptionally tender and flavorful. The flatbread was fluffy on the I side and tasted heavenly dipped in the meat sauce. The rice was also superb. To experience food, hospitality, and service that good while they were in the middle of packing everything up was very unexpected and much appreciated. We're bummed that we don't live in the Sacramento area; otherwise, we would definitely become regulars in their new digs.
