Sometimes you have to spend 40$ to know which BBQ restaurant to never go to again you know what I mean? We ordered off grub hub and went to pick up- they said we didn’t get the order and we shouldn’t have ordered online… ok. We get to the house, pulled our food out and noticed we only got a small side of potato salad when we ordered a large (4$) ok… then we proceed to dig into the ribs. I have never in my life had ribs that were so dry, hard and flavorless in my life. I mean it was really bad. Some of them were inedible. On top of that they put 4 pieces of bread straight out the bag?? Tf?? The sauce was watered down to the point it wouldn’t stay on the ribs. I am sorely disappointed. Hopefully you read the reviews like I didn’t do and save yourself a trip to this godforsaken BBQ joint. Service Take out Meal type Dinner Price per person $30–50 Food: 1 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 2

Ok, so my review of any restaurant or store will always be fair. If I could give the customer service at this location a -1 I would. Mind you this eatery has really good food. I'm not a huge rib fan but I love fish. The "lady" at the counter was sooooooo rude and hostile with everyone. Whoever made her mad for not coming into work their shift she took it out on customers. I did get a to go order. The gentleman in front got fussed out for ordering wings and fries , guess she didn't hear him and when the order came mind you even I heard him order wings and fries. His ticket didn't say it but her asked when he ordered. Even the guy from the back said hey do you want me to just give you some fries? The gentleman said don't even worry about it. Maybe her coffee she was drinking wasn't allowing her to have a good day. I was sure to not even engage with her but her whole disposition her talk was rudddddde! Now I visited the food truck at Stillman maybe two weeks ago while traveling through and the staff was pleasant but on March 1 , this encounter in this location was the worst. I won't visit a location again maybe find the food truck again if in Tuscaloosa on a game day .My grandpa always said, "It's just Nice to be Nice! Hopefully, this person on the front is not an owner or manager, cause she was rude to customers and borderline ready to fight if you questioned her. Please take my review as a perspective of a person who visited a location verses the food truck. If you eat here know that the food is delicious, customer service is important no matter how long the business has been open. The ribs were meaty, flavorful & not small The fried okra was just right. The potato salad was good but small. It was a great meal Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $10–20 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes Rib Plate
Absolutely the most overrated bbq joint. Wings were recommended but were the size of your pinky finger. No ice. No forks. Weird sauce on wings and ribs. Cashier can’t talk plainly. Slaw was bad. Don’t bother Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

I was recently visiting a friend in Tuscaloosa and needing some lunch I thought of Archibald's. In years past it has been an oasis of fabulous barbecue. Sadly that is no longer the case. From the moment I walked in the door and spoke to the extremely unpleasant person that was taking orders behind the cash register until the first bite after a 30 minute wait for an extremely dry and unappetizing rib. I suspect that wretched rib might have been cooked last week and merely warmed up. The inside of the meat was cold stringy and dry. I have no idea why it took 30 minutes to warm up the poor thing. I was the only person in the place. I asked the unhappy person in the front if maybe they were trying to cook the ribs from scratch and was told in a very unpleasant fashion that food takes time. The ribs have to be cut and plated. What a sad joke. I would give the place a zero if I could. I deeply regret stepping foot into what was once a Mecca for barbecue and Alabama. I will never make that mistake again. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $30–50 Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

We were on our way to an Alabama football game and decided to stop here for a quick lunch to take with us. They took our order, and we were out of there in less than 10 minutes. The staff isn’t as friendly as most places we’ve been to, but the food makes up for it because the BBQ sandwiches was great! To paraphrase Dickens, this, the 343rd stop on a BBQ adventure now spanning 35 states (the 10th stop in Alabama), is a tale of two restaurants. I came by for lunch, which turned into a 70 minute affair that felt much longer. Service was slow, and more than half the orders that came out of the kitchen in my presence were wrong. Believe me, if you order take out, you really want to check the order before you leave! This is a shame because the price point here is excellent, and on the whole the food explains the lofty status the restaurant achieved in Southern Living's 2019 top fifty ranking of southern BBQ. $21.76 purchased a small rib plate (4 meaty bones with membrane intact and the tips uncut served wet) with sides of collard greens and fried okra, a small banana pudding, and a refillable soft drink (Pepsi products). The ribs were beautifully prepared, separating cleanly at the bite, with a light rub that did not overpower the great, moist flavor of the meat. The slightly sweet greens and pudding were also winners. Only the excessively salty okra disappointed. So, definitely worth the stop, but don't be on a tight schedule when you come here. We tried this place a while ago and hopped off the hwy today while passing through Tuscaloosa for more Catfish. The cashier might make you want to leave immediately BUT don't! The fish is so worth it. Freshly fried Catfish is so good. Seasoned just right and not soggy nor too hard. I was shorted half a fish but the 5 piece fish sandwich plate was more than enough. Just ordered some whitening fish and I live 2 minutes away when I get there my food is ready so when I get home the fish is cold on the inside and tough Service Take out Meal type Other Price per person $1–10 Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 5
When I entered the elderly gentleman that took my order looked like he wasn't having the best day and acted like it too but that didn't deter me . I ordered the catfish dinner with beans, greens with extra side of mac & cheese plus 6 wings . The food was great . The value was even better. If I'm close , I'm stopping !!
