This was the 1st time we visited Archer Ale House. It's fantastic! Loved the food. The employees are great and the cocktails are superb. The Guinness is on nitro. Need I say more? Just go and enjoy. Price per person $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Irish Nachos

Recommended to me, by a local, and now me to you...this place is a hidden gem. No seriously, it's hidden down in a basement, smack in the middle of Fairhaven Village on Harris. No longer will you ignorantly stroll on by, but now, being fully informed, you'll quickly head on down those stairs, and you'll be pleasantly surprised how good their food is... especially for a Bar. Sit yourself down... at said bar, and order up... an old fashioned, followed by the best BLT you've ever tried. That's correct..and my dollar says it will be, and you'll agree with me before that last bite is consumed. Very cool environment, superior service, lots of space, an, and... I relaxed immediately once I sat on that stool, and I think you will too. So... "come on down" and hang out with the locals. Price per person $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

It was a much better Irish pub than I thought, and the food was authentic, so I enjoyed enough food and beer. If you go down the stairs, you can enter a very cozy bar, and Bangers and mesh, Oyster, and sausage roll are also authentic. The Nitro Guinness beer also tasted great. Highly recommend this place Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

Super cozy bar with homey atmosphere. Impeccable service. The bartender was extremely attentive and fulfilled our order quickly. As soon as our waters were half empty, he was right there with a refill. We didn’t order food today, but from the looks of what others were ordering around us, the food is good! I started with a Scratch Whiskey Ginger, and hubby had an Old Fashioned. My cocktail was pretty weak, but still good. My husband thoroughly enjoyed the Old Fashioned. My second drink was just a Hefeweizen with lemon. We love playing Trivial Pursuit when bars have it, and Archers had a couple of editions along with many other games which was fun. Overall, a great place to hang out with that neighborhood feel.
Good selection of beers, and the food I got was very good, but not what I ordered. I sat at the bar and ordered a $35 special entree of seafood gumbo. It was described as havi shrimp, clams, mussels, and fish, and at that price I expected a full meal. What arrived was a cup of gumbo, a small salad, and two small pieces of toast. I was shocked, but didn't question it at first. I ate the gumbo, but couldn't find any seafood in it. I looked at the menu, and figured out that she thought that I ordered an item off of the appetizer menu, a $17 cup of soup of the day and salad. The soup of the day happened to be gumbo. I tried to explain the error to the bartender, but she said she didn't understand. The guy sitting next to me tried to explain, but she said that she still didn't understand what she did wrong. I don't know if she was new or what, but even when I showed her what I ordered on the specials menu, she still didn't get it. So I got the bill, made sure I wasn't charged for the entree, and left the bar hungry. I'm still not sure if the bartender was really confused or just trying to get away with something. Other than that, it seems like a great place. I'd recommend it, but be sure you get what you order and pay for. Price per person $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 5

Great service, clean. Well ventilated. Atmosphere is positive. Had the Dungeness Crab Cakes. $16 and worth it! Lots of meat in these little cakes. Price per person $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Our first visit to this delightful eatery. We had the crab cakes, pork sliders and sausage roll. It was all very delicious. Had a couple of cocktails to top out a very tasty meal. Will definitely be back. Our server, Lyric, was friendly and very responsive. Price per person $30–50 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Crab Dip
Great location, amazing spicy chicken sandwich - the chicken was cooked to perfection in my opinion. Waitress could have been more professional; music was a bit too loud for my taste. Waitress was very attentive and helpful though. Price per person $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4
UPDATED 10/17/2022: DISAPPOINTING... As they say “Cleanliness is next to Godliness”. If it’s dirty in the customer portion of the establishment you have to wonder what the kitchen looks like??? The food was good, not great, bland, wings, the sausage role & 1/2 order Irish Nachos. Bathrooms are gross, they obviously do not have a cleaning regime as there was some type of “leftovers” on the floor when we arrived (ten minutes after they opened for the day) & in other areas of the bar! Service was just ok. We wanted, NO expected more, unfortunately Archers fell short. There is no other bar in town that could offer this type of environment (read vibe). @ this rate I don’t see Archers making it! **Original review six months ago. Owners finding their way keeping the feel of the old but updating where it’s needed. Great food, drinks, wine, games and a casual vibe, what else does one need!! No happy hour yet but it sounds like they are working towards it. Support them now so we can reap the rewards later I say!!!!! The wings btw are excellent + the pub made pepper sauce will put hair on your chest!! It’s that good!! :-)
Yes. I tried their elk burger, and my friend got their special empanada. We split our food and neither liked the empanada, but we liked the elk burger. The burger was a bit expensive but compared to other burgers it's a better quality and came with a Ceasars salad & and a bag of chips, so that definitely makes this better than other places. The atmosphere and bartender were nice. I'd definitely go back. Price per person $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
