I had a great Valentine’s Day meal at Ama Cocina. It is one of the best Mexican restaurants in Albany in my opinion. I recommend getting the pitcher of margarita for the table. You can choose between a few different kinds, we decided to go with the strawberry. The pitcher came with free chips and salsa as well, which I think is a great idea. Between the two of us we both had four margaritas and had to get an Uber home but it was such a great time! Our waitress brought over a new glass with ice and sugar rims every time we went through a margarita. I was very impressed with the service and the attention to detail we received from the staff. The guacamole and queso was delicious and I would definitely get it again when I go back. The tacos were all good but I have to admit the barbacoa was my favorite one. It had a great flavor to it that I never had before. I can’t wait to go back. Thanks! Stopped by for a quick dinner and it was a great experience. We didn’t have reservations but they were able to accommodate us immediately. We had the street corn (absolutely amazing), empanadas with queso (also delicious), carne asada tacos (great flavor, steak cooked perfectly) and the chorizo burrito covered with salsa verde. Everything came out quick and was nothing short of tasty/flavorful. Ended the night with some hibiscus margaritas! I only wish the tacos had a second tortilla- it was so yummy but the taco ripped from the steak juices and sauce lol so delicious though. I’ll be back next time I’m in town. Ama Cocina is back open after having closed down during the pandemic. The food and atmosphere are the same as before offering delicious Mexican dishes in a fun environment. Gluten free corn taco are available but no separate fryer for nachos. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Samosas, ground beef was well seasoned, but mild. Perfect fry and presentation. Tacos again east coast mild, but we'll done. Yeggie Tacos are as good as Pork and Chix. Good selection of tequila and XX on tap! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Great food and great drinks! That said, please get better tortillas, those that you use are too thing and they get stale very quick. In addition, they are too big for the amount of meat put on it. Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Ama is fantastic all around. Exceptional service, drinks, food, and atmosphere. The bartender, Sara, creates exceptionally crafted cocktails and is extremely talented and knowledgeable. The pear martini that Sara recommended was a perfect seasonal cocktail. The atmosphere is welcoming and fun, with music that elevates the experience. Would absolutely recommend making this your next night out in Albany. Meal type Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
First visit and had great experience. Excellent food… flank steak with chimichurri and cheese grits was awesome. Best fish tacos have had outside of Southern California. Good drinks. Super fast and attentive service. I think our server was Nancy… very professional and pleasant. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $30–50 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

SO happy Ama Cocina is back open, especially downtown where with the closing of The Bishop, there are sometimes limited options. Went there last night with friends. Really loved the queso and the streetcorn for the table as appetizers. Service was attentive, food arrived promptly (we ordered a mix of bowls, quesadillas, and burritos), and all was very good. My friends ordered margaritas and I had beer. Prices were very fair. 10/10 will be back. RUN to support them in their reopening!!! This is the best place in Albany for the food of my people. I will say it is a little Americanized which is perfectly fine. So am I ha ha ha. I was here for dinner and the waiters the ambience the atmosphere the energy in the music was top-tier. I wish it turned into a club at night and that’s the only thing I would change differently but everything else was amazing. The drinks were very strong and delicious and it felt like a great energy for all ages. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
