We recently visited this restaurant on 6/17. We had an experience that was worth noting. The waitress notified us they only had a couple dishes remaining on one of the specials. The one item was the Swordfish. So my wife ordered it. A few min went by and the manager came by and apologized because they sold out of it. So my wife ordered another seafood dish. No issues and we were not upset at all, it happens. The server then brought out the two appetizers we ordered. By surprise she brought out a 3rd appetizer on the house. The manager and waitress came over and apologized once again for running out of the Swordfish and told us the 3rd appetizer was free. Keep in mind, we were not upset and it wasn’t expected or necessary they did this. It was a very nice gesture, and this nice gesture was basically how the rest of the dinner turned out. The service was excellent, the food was fabulous, the free appetizer was amazing, and the atmosphere was pleasant and inviting. I almost forgot, thank you bartender, our drinks were great, especially my Old Fashioned. It was perfect! The one picture is an appetizer, Steak Tatar. As you can see it was almost gone. Outstanding!! Thank you to the entire staff at Allen Street Grill. It was our first time at the restaurant and it won’t be our last. Cheers!! Grilled Halloumi cheese, caramelized peaches, smoked spec ham, and tahini honey. I'm telling you, the Allen Street Grill has the best food and a genius chef. .... wedge salad was my wife's choice for dinner. I didn't sample so I can't say much about that. I had the Atlantic Halibut over super sweet corn and San Marzano tomatoes in the last picture. The Halibut was mild, perfectly crispy on the surface and melt in your mouth on the inside. So look....I don't post many reviews and I am I simple man who typically doesn't like higher priced and fancy places. That said, I have to say there is no place better I've ever eaten. This place is at the pinnacle of the industry. From servers and bartenders to the kitchen and management. This is the ultimate dining experience anywhere, right here in our home town. This was our first time here , they sat us pretty quick and the server came by right away . The bolognese pasta was amazing I would highly recommend. I got the sword fish the fish it self was nice but the sauce and green beans paired with it were not very good , the sauce was underwhelming and the green beans weren’t even cooked they were served cold and flavor less , other then that the experience was nice Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $20–30 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

Outstanding! For my wife's work, we visited your city on the day after my Feb. 5 birthday. On a whim we celebrated at the Allen Street Grill. I am so happy that we did as the food, drinks, and atmosphere were top notch! We popped in without a reservation and thank the staff for its friendly and thorough service. We also met several local regulars and they added to the charm of your good place. I highly recommend the duck meatloaf!!! Yum! Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
We really enjoyed our experience! Such a cool, historical place. Each room in the restaurant is different. We had an amazing view looking out over College Ave and the Christmas tree. Our server was friendly and checked in often despite them being busier than usual for winter graduation. The drinks were simple, yet incredibly good. The food was delicious and creative. Definitely will be back! Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $50–100
Great experience at this fine dining location overlooking the main campus of Penn State in downtown state college. We visited on a Wednesday where they were showcasing a special menu of whiskey and burger. I decided to go for it. The whisky is a curated choice of 3 different brands with a helpful menu explaining each flavor. The burger was a generous size with a thick patty, sausage and sauerkraut, served with fries. For starters, we tried their unique dish mushroom hummus. I come from middle East where hummus is a staple dish but I must admit I was impressed with what the chef managed to do. Full of flavor. Our server was very helpful regularly checking on us to ensure everything was going according to plan. Prices are what you would expect for a premium dining experience. Highly recommended. Had a group dinner here. Food was fantastic; I definitely recommend trying out one of their starters (so flavorful!). Our waiter was rushed and frantic (seems like he was having a stressful day), but the chef and support staff who helped were cheerful and relaxed, so still a good service experience in sum. Will definitely be going back (but not too much or my wallet will hate me). Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $50–100 Food: 5 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 5

Compliments to the chef, staff and team at AG. Let’s start with the extensive cocktail menu and excellent wine list. Had both a cocktail and wine (it was move in weekend after all) and both were fantastic . The menu is seasonal, and they curate and use local ingredients and it was evident. Food was fresh (melon salad, salmon and chicken were outstanding), seasoned to perfection, delicious and the presentation - beautiful (insert chef’s kiss emoji here). And to top off a fabulous evening at the AG, our server Brian was knowledgeable, attentive and beyond helpful (thanks, Brian!). Now that our only children are residents of State College, we plan on stopping here anytime we are in town. Great choice for dining when in the area!
