Our first time at Alice and friends vegan kitchen at Glenview, Nat was very helpful assisting us to choose from such a verity of dishes. The food is delicious and healthy. Atmosphere is pleasant. Best vegan restaurant I’ve been to. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
i am so happy to have a vegan place so close to home! the fries are super crispy and delicious. i got the korean bbq and the meat substitute was so flavorful. i also enjoyed their thai iced tea. my favorite part about this place so far is all of the options. i can’t wait to try more of their food! Everything was so delicious & I love the fact that all of the allergens are marked on the menu to make it easier for those with allergies to soy / gluten etc. The Thai iced tea & tiramisu cake were my favorites. WE HAD A FEAST! Was here for a family birthday party and I’m pretty sure we ordered the whole menu as a group. The owners are so sweet and the service was great! I’m not vegan but do generally enjoy vegan food. I primarily the appetizers (dumplings, Rangoon, satay, drumsticks, agedashi tofu) which were all delicious. The mango lemonade is the reminiscent of a mango lassi- I could have a whole gallon of it. The entrees I tried were the Kung pao ding, chow mein, noble burger, and walnut shrimp. The king pap ding was spot on! The chow mein was a thin noodle stir fry- good but my husband said could use more flavor (he added the Kung pao sauce). The walnut shrimp was sweet and tangy! Ended the night with the carrot cake. Perfect balance of sweetness for me- not overly sweet. Come with an open mind, palate and belly! Definitely a hidden gem of glenview. Will be back for more! I literally could sing the praises of Alice and friends all day long. We're long time fans and always traveled over an hour to get to the Chicago location, so when we found out that they were opening a suburban location it's an understatement to say we were excited. I am vegan and have been for 12 years, my husband likes to call himself "vegan adjacent" in that he eats 99% vegan but will still eat animal products in certain situations. This is the favorite restaurant for BOTH of us. We have literally never left here feeling anything other than satisfied; we usually get several appetizers, a main, and a dessert to go and have never had anything that we didn't enjoy. Our favorites are the crab rangoon, blissful joy, ramen, kingwhich, and walnut shrimp. The Tom Kha noodles are also to die for. I literally cannot say enough good things about the food and staff at Alice and friends.
