Went on a date with my handsome boyfriend.. we both got different lobster pastas and it is DEFINITELY worth the money. Service was amazing too. The food was just ok this time. My husband's French Onion Soup had an off flavor. Thought it may have been a spice we didn't care for, but may have been onions turning. Alfredo had a taste of roux. My meatball sandwich was good but could not be eaten as a sandwich. I ordered both sweet and hot peppers. None were sweet or hot. Salad was delicious as was the Mexican Street Corn soup. First time eating at this restaurant, and we had a blast! It was a super busy Saturday night, but we managed to be sat for a table of 10 with a short notice reservation. The waitress also did an amazing job of splitting the bill into 10 separate checks as well as any drinks my friends ordered were delivered to the table super quickly! Ala Roma never fails to deliver with great food and reasonable prices. Service is normally top notch but on our last visit it was a bit off. Our server brought my wife and kids their salads but forgot my soup, I had to ask about it and it finally arrived with the main course. Not a huge issue but it did make our high top table that much more crowded. I will not let this stop us from visiting here again the next time we get to Fond du lac. Super service last week! Food was quick to arrive and absolutely delicious. Minestrone, calamari, half n half pizza for the SMO and all meat lovers, and a fruity adult beverage for mom who deserves it. A must go restaurant when in Fond du Lac! Even with a table of six we were seated promptly and served our drinks quickly. Our waitress was OUTSTANDING and the food, as always, was well worth the short wait. Ala Roma is a no-brainer if you want genuinely good Italian food in the Fond du Lac area ! Update : My wife, sister-in-law and I just had lunch here ( again )...and the food, like always, was HEAVENLY. The soup ( creamy chicken and rice ) was amazing as was the main course ( build your own pasta: Tortellini Alfredo with meatballs ). I heartily recommend Ala Roma to ANYONE who's even remotely a fan of Italian food...you simply can't go wrong ! Another update : I stopped again today for a business lunch and had the same thing that I've had on several previous occasions ( Tortellini Con Pesto minus the tomatoes and mushrooms; see the attached picture ), as it was so good. This time my review is of our waitress, Gina -- she was WONDERFUL ! She was the perfect combination of attentive but not smothering, refilling our drinks and checking back sporadically to make sure we didn't require anything else. On top of that she was very engaging and always had a smile on her face. Waitresses like her are often the difference between an unremarkable dining experience and a truly memorable one. Thank you very much for how well you treated us, Gina, as well as your attention to our needs...we REALLY appreciated it !! 😁👍 Still another update : My wife and I stopped in a couple of days ago for dinner and I had the Baked Ziti with alfredo sauce and meatballs with chicken noodle soup. Two words: absolutely HEAVENLY ! To top it off we split a slice of Turtle cheesecake, which was totally decadent and was a wonderful end to our meal. This is my favorite restaurant. This was my paternal grandpa's favorite restaurant and his go-to dish was the Lobster Ravioli. I cannot say enough about how incredible this restaurant is. The atmosphere is always cozy and the service is on point consistently. I have never had a bad experience in the years I've been coming here. You cannot go wrong with anything on the menu. My personal favorites include the Baked Ziti, Thin Crust Pizza (Sausage, Mushroom, Onion), Baked Manicotti, Minestrone soup, and french onion soup. Best restaurant in the Fond du Lac area and anytime I've in the area I have to stop. Great place for groups, families, and date nights. Pictured below is the Lasanga Bolongese and French Onion Soup.
