I joined a pair of colleagues at Al Boom for a nice dinner on a Saturday evening..
From the moment I approached the entrance, within the Radisson Blu hotel complex, I knew I was going to experience something I hadn't previously..
Set within an old sailing vessel, Al Boom delivers a unique culinary experience in one of the most unique venues I've ever experienced..
As we reviewed the menu, engraved brass placemats were set, as was rose gold finished flatware, neatly bundled in fabric napkins..
Our trio sampled the lobster bisque soup, fried calamari, and Dynamite Shrimps as appetizers.. The lobster bisque soup was reported to be quite tasty, and I can personally attest to the quality of the calamari and Dynamite Shrimps.. Both were very enjoyable..
Our main courses included my Angus tenderloin, an Angus ribeye, and an Australian Wagyu ribeye.. Each of the three steaks and their accompanying sauces were prepared perfectly and delivered to our table on sizzling, cast iron platters.. Each of us remarked that the quality and flavor of our steaks were on point..
As for sides, my colleagues sampled the creamy parmesan spinach, and I sampled the buttered mashed potatoes and roasted corn.. All three were solid choices..
I opted out of a post-meal treat, but my colleagues sampled the French coffee and a Mojito mocktail, and both were quite pleased..
All in all, I am very thankful I got to experience Al Boom, and should I return to Kuwait 🇰🇼 City in the future, it will certainly remain one of my top choices for a unique and quality dining experience..

Fillet Angus Tenderloin Steak
This is a must visit restaurant if you are in Kuwait. The restaurant is an historic dhow transformed into a beautiful restaurant. In the hot summer you dine inside but in the winter months as it cools you dine on the deck. It is seafood and steaks but there is also other things to choose from on the menu. Every item you want to eat for a meal is separate so you build your whole plate. There are non alcoholic beers and wines and moctails. The service is fabulous and the manager is very helpful. You need to make sure you walk and see the whole ship and don't forget to visit the lounge. I will definitely return when I'm back here.

Fried Calamari
This is the kind of restaurant that I would love to enjoy, if I have a special occasion. It has a great, and fine-dining establishment since 1982. They have organized servers, Dynamite Shrimp is amazing, Prime Salmon is also amazing, and so are the Smokey Ribs. If you are willing to experience it, then be careful because the menu is expensive so choose wisely. I would definitely return to this restaurant.

Excellent customer service with personable staff. Extremely welcoming environment with a great view of the ocean. The atmosphere of the restaurant captured what it would feel like to eat on a ship. The food was spectacular and my steak was cooked to perfection. Highly recommend any tourist or resident to this location. Kuwait’s hidden gem.

Dinning at the Al Boom is a treat. Right from the soups to the dessert not one dish disappointed! The clam chowder soup was a total delight and the fried calamari was excellent! The grilled platter was amazing especially the lamb chops. The grilled chicken was totally juicy and tender and the the accompanying sauces especially the mushroom sauce was out of this world! Would totally recommend this place for a dinner for 2 or a couples group!
Nice place and yummy foods!!! But I enjoyed more the boat-like place…feels like your in the ocean sailing while eating.

Under the Shared Seafood
There is no better place to enjoy a fancy atmosphere and the best seafood in Kuwait than Alboom. The service is top notch! It is on the pricer range, but it is so worth it!
Try the seafood platter special for 2. Lobster, giant prawns, calamari, and Hamour fillet. Best platter I had in all my travels.
The restaurant is a real ship, sitting on the grounds of Radisson Blu. The wooden workmanship inside is a sight to behold, and the ship deck is an amazing outdoor cafe, excellent when the weather is nice.

Hamour Fisherman's Platter
We ate here for a going away party. This was an elegant setting with excellent service. The food was very good but not as good as I had expected. It was also more expensive than the typical Kuwaiti restaurants.

Al Boom Steak & Seafood is a restaurant by @radissonblukuwait where one can experience dining under the starry sky on a pleasant evening aboard a traditional wooden ‘dhow’.
Though the aura may please the eye, the food however was pretty mediocre.
The short rib croquettes extremely dry. The pide not upto the mark a little too bland and the steak well with the mushroom sauce.
Nothing like what you would expect from a ‘Radisson Blu’ restaurant. The food standards are lower than it’s name.
What we tried:
- Short Rib Croquettes
- Seafood Pide with Calamari, Mussels, Shrimps and Hamour
- New York Sirloin
