If you're visiting this place, please get in touch with Asaad. He will take you around this beautiful place. This place requires time and he took enough time to walk us all through the hike. Also the food at his restaurant after the hike was extremely good and not spicy perfect for international travellers with kids. The view from the restaurant is extremely beautiful. Also please do not forget to see the museum and support the little souvenir shop which has stuff from the local artisans.

After a day full of activities, Al Belad house served us a scrumptious full meal.
It includes everything from salad to fried chicken , mutton and omani traditional rice shuwa, kabuli. I enjoyed every bite of the food with a nice view.
The restaurant owner Asaad is very humble and served us with full hospitality.
After the lunch , we had a walk in Misfat Al Abraiyan village with Asaad and it was a nice hike.

Props to Al Belad House for an easy and delicious buffet lunch after our walk in Misfat.
Pros: The Omani host was friendly but not overbearing and greeted us in perfect English. We walked in and seated ourselves and paid and dug into the food immediately. The food was tasty and the same kinds of dishes that I have been served in scores of Omani homes. It was replenished in a timely fashion, and tables were cleared efficiently. The decor was simple and pleasant, and the outdoor seating perfect for a March day during a pandemic. Every staffer I saw, from the host to the guy replenishing the buffet to the guy clearing tables, was Omani.
Cons: Space on the rooftop was a little tight. There was indoor seating (traditional floor-style, I think), but you might not get a prime rooftop seat if you come at a busy time. The A/Cs on the roof nearby didn’t add to the view, and the flies tried to lunch with us, but I don’t hold either against Al Belad House.
The food was pricier than what you’d find in a restaurant down the mountain and the buffet was basic, but it was reasonably pricier.
I’d say it was worth every baisa for the chance to eat in the open air with a stunning view of the valley, to enjoy a simple Omani lunch without having to decide from a menu and wait to be served, and to support Omani entrepreneurs!
Thanks to Al Belad House for the humble and kind hospitality!
Cold service, cold food, overpriced and tasteless. One star for the view. Go elsewhere.
