Her tamales were spicy but delicious - recommend at least 2..! The burritos are smaller than a 'normal' Tex-Mex one but are priced accordingly aaaand they are delicious...! I had x2 and was satisfied - the barbacoa specifically was one of the best I have had in a long time and highly recommended..! They are just meat not with rice and beans, etc. The empanadas on the counter are also fantastic - like a biscochito taste and texture put some pineapple taste inside..! I spoke enough Spanish to have no issues ordering and they take Visa, too. You won't find a better lunch for the money! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
I don't know what to say. We're on a road trip from Canada, and have been very much looking forward to trying authentic Mexican food. The women working seemed to only speak Spanish. We ordered papas chorizo and got two tortilla wraps with cold, pretty flavourless potato chunks inside... No other ingredients whatsoever. Price for this with a coke was $13. We feel like we got ripped off. Hardly the good value or quality food we read about in the reviews. I love Mexican food and I've never made any at home this disappointing. I've had far better burritos from gas stations in the past few days, but I'm hesitant to try any more small local places like this, as this is the second time we've been ripped off (so it seems) by an elderly Hispanic woman who seems to only speak Spanish. We're pleasant people, not like we did anything to offend them. Feels like opportunism, as I'm sure we looked like tourists. I can't imagine two wraps filled with old potatoes that costs that much money is routinely getting 5 star reviews... So take what you will from this. Maybe she simply forgot to add any of the other ingredients after she warmed the old potatoes and put them in the tortilla? Tourists beware it seems? The tortilla makes a difference! These burritos are probably the best burritos in Fort Stockton. All the other burrito places have great meat and chili but use store bought tortillas and it's a real let down in flavor. This place has the right idea with in house made tortillas. At $3 a burrito with homemade tortillas, it's not a large burrito but I think it's a good deal. Theirs no where to sit though, you just order and go to the park or to a friend's place. The burritos are good quality and if you need a quick bite, this is miles ahead of any fast-food or chain you will find down the street. I would suggest trying their asado burrito or the Chile Verde con asadero y carne de res.
OMG so good. My husband got the asada burrito, and I got the brisket burrito. Both were fantastic. The tortillas were so fresh and soft, and the meat and salsas were perfection. We paid $9 for two burritos! We even saw someone making the fresh tortillas in the back, so it's no wonder everything was so good. Friendly and fast service as well. We were on the road just passing through–what a fantastic pit stop!! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Burritos were very good. We had the brisket which was juicy and delicious. But there was no menu description so when you order ask for rice (arroz) , beans (frijoles) or salsa if you want them on your burrito or else it will be served with plain meat. The servers spoke only Spanish.
delicious burritos. We ordered brisket, rice, pico de gaillo, salsa and it also came with cheese. The burritos were flavorful and warm. We also ordered tamales and they were spicy. We liked the spiciness of the tamales as it gave a kick to its taste. Their tortillas were made fresh. The ladies were very nice and friendly. This place is order to-go only not for dine-in. I would highly recommend this place if you are in Fort Stockton area or happen to pass by. If you are on your way to Big Bend and make a turn there, definitely need to make a stop before continuing on your adventuring trip.
Best breakfast tacos I've had in a long time. I highly recommend the chorizo and egg. Fort Stockton isn't a large place, so I wasn't expecting to find such a solid, authentic venue for breakfast tacos. Definitely worth stopping by if you're traveling through west Texas. 👍👍 Meal type Breakfast Price per person $1–10
10/10. Extremely nice people, cute little taco shop, amazing burritos, great salsa, and they even gave us some free cookies. Will definitely be back next time I’m going through Ft. Stockton Service Take out Meal type Lunch Price per person $1–10
Delicious burritos with tender meat and perfectly fresh tortillas. And the ladies were so kind to accommodate our last-minute tamale order the day before Christmas Eve. Thanks so much, our family will be thrilled when we arrive with these! Service Take out Meal type Lunch Price per person $1–10
Stopped here because we read a lot of good reviews. We were very disappointed with the customer service yet we remained hopeful that the food would be good. The burritos were below average, the tortilla was hard and cold. Burritos were $4.50. Don’t waste your time stopping here
