This is a small cafe/bakery in the courtyard of an office complex. The bread for the sandwiches is freshly baked and they have many wonderful kinds. My favorite is the sesame herb bread. Staff is very friendly. I like to eat out in the courtyard, where there are tables and benches
Such a convenient location at 1990 N California. I love that I can pop over from my office building and grab breakfast or lunch. The staff are so friendly and the fresh baked breads with their sandwiches are my fav.
This place is awesome.
Suggestions:
Maryanne makes great hot chocolates.
The vanilla coffee is always perfect.
The coconut coffee drinks are also amazing.
The cob salad is very generous.
Everyone I know loves the chicken pot pies.
This place is perfectly small. The staff is super friendly and made fun recommendations for when we weren't quite sure what we wanted. Would come back just because they make you feel like you are with friends. Also, the pastries are delicious!

Phoning in your order is definitely the way to pick up sandwiches from Sweet Affair. Especially at this tiny location.
They seemed overwhelmed by the small line in front of me, which I had to wait in since there isn't a spot for phone-in pick up like at the Ygnacio location. It was a short wait, only to be told they didn't have my order. After the initial feeling of panic wore off, they said they did actually have it, under a different name (I had called in several sandwiches for a group dining in our nearby office).
Everyone's order was correct. Sandwiches and salads alike. And free cookies were included because I phoned it in. I definitely wouldn't walk over at lunch time without ordering ahead. Really small spot, but food quality and value was as good as expected.
Did not know it was downtown til now. I went to the other location often. I love the little cakes for birthdays and everything is fantastic. I save my calories for this treat.
