We had a top-notch experience! A Bar of Their Own is a beautiful space with a warm, inclusive energy, that’s evident in the staff *and* the clientele, that you just don’t get at a typical sports bar.
There are so many intentional choices throughout the space that make you feel welcome, safe, and right at home. We loved seeing the posted conduct code, the community partnerships highlighted on the menu, and seeing all of the values-aligned brands on the drinks lists! Everything from dome softball to gymnastics to basketball playing on the TVs 🤩
Our server was excellent - friendly, attentive, and high energy (even toward the end of the night on opening day 👏🏼).
We had the brownie with ice cream and the fried pickles - both were awesome! Excited to be back soon for HH and dinner and to see how the concept grows, evolves, and makes our community an even better place. Obviously….big recommend!!

Amazing, community-oriented bar. Even on Opening Day, which has the potential to be chaotic or not adequately staffed for the popularity, everything was well-friend, friendly and celebratory! Food was great and reasonably priced, and the staff are all on-point. A true gem and wonderful addition to Minneapolis!
10s across the board! I was able to check it out opening weekend! It’s clear this bar is built with love and intentionality.
Had about an hour wait, but killed the time by visiting nearby businesses!
Everything from the service, food, and drinks was spectacular! Even though it was busy we got our food quickly and we were checked in on frequently. Jillian, the owner, was putting in the work and on the floor mingling/working with the rest of the staff. It was amazing to experience a safe, welcoming, fun environment to enjoy women’s sports.
If you live here, this should be your new neighborhood bar. If you’re visiting, this should be on your MN bucket list. OH, and for my fellow celiacs the menu had SO many gf options!

What an amazing spot!!! Made it in on Sunday for the Iowa game and it did not disappoint! This place and team that runs it deserve the hype! The food and drinks were great, the wait staff were awesome, and the atmosphere was top notch. I'm looking forward to coming back soon to catch some PWHL games!!!

Went last Saturday with a group of friends to watch the PWHL game. The entire space, and experience that ABOTO has created feels warm and welcoming. We chatted with other excited patrons in line, and were able to walk around the neighborhood while waiting for a table. Once we got in, everyone from barback to busser, to other folks there to eat and watch women's sports were all smiles. The food was delicious, the service was fantastic, and we all agreed at the end of the afternoon that we were excited about coming in again!

A friend and I got dinner here on a Wednesday night. It was super busy so we had just over an hour wait. The food was worth it, everything was fresh and delicious. We ordered the nachos and Korean wings.
Only critique was that we didn’t have enough chips for all the nacho toppings- in general the serving size seemed smaller than what we saw other tables with. Will order again because I think this was a fluke and the flavors were still very good! Korean BBQ wings 10/10 will have these again!
I appreciate the vibe so positive and happy. Of course the pro women’s sports environment is such a delight and I feel so lucky to live here and get to make this a regular spot. Beer selection is excellent and appreciate several non hoppy options as a hater of IPA! 🤣
Other positives: kind server, clean and private gender neutral bathrooms, and despite being busy I didn’t feel packed in- there was room to breathe.
Hard to understand the hate this place gets in comments of news articles and a single one star review from someone who has never been here. In addition to this amazing new bar, the Twin Cities is home to some amazing mental health resources. Might I recommend therapy for men who simply hate the idea of women existing. Perhaps also some education on what discrimination is.
Thank you to the owners and crew who are making this all possible so excited to become a regular after a wonderful first experience!

Went here opening night. I was told 45 minutes to 1 hour wait to get inside. It was 1 hour 20 minutes. This was the only negative of the visit (even grading on an opening night curve). Once I was able to sit at the bar, my experience superceded that of a Friday night at another random bar. The bartender got my beer order and instantly gave me a menu as I sat at the bar. My food order was taken very quickly and it was received very quickly (Chicken Caesar Salad). I got a 2 minute/2 bite check(I used to work in the restaurant business). As I just completed my salad and beer, the bartender checked on me and got me a second beer. Just after I finished my second beer, the bartender was there to see if I wanted a third. I was good at that time and instantly got my check and was able to pay timely.
Other than the wait to get into the bar, there was no need to even grade with an opening night curve. The service, food, and drinks exceeded my expectations and it was better than a regular Friday night dinner experience. I will definitely return.

We were so excited when we heard of this women-centered sports bar opening in Minneapolis and we went opening weekend. At first when we saw the veggie burger option was a black bean patty, we were like oh hi 2004. But it was actually delish! Crispy, tons of flavor with a tasty sauce, I'm excited to get it again soon. Cool vibe and great service, we'll be back!

Amazing atmosphere with friendly and professional staff, especially our server Archie! Good beer list and good food options--but not too many to lead to decision paralysis. Loved seeing all the women's sports games on TV and loved all of the sports memorabilia on the walls.
