About
A lot of visitors have noticed that sushi here is good. The only thing that disappoints when you visit ShopRite of Fischer Bay is terrific employees. From the guests' point of view, prices are democratic. Google users awarded this place 4.2.

I went to use the self checkout because I had 3 separate orders all under 20 items and asked the person working the self checkout if it was okay since they were 3 separate orders under 20 items that added up to a total of 27 items if they weren't separate. The worker said that's fine and allowed me to do it. As I was ringing up the orders for instacart a way I make money another worker shut down the machine I was using and completely messed up what I was doing because she had a problem with me ringing up 3 orders. She continued to lie and say the sign said there was only 1 order allowed to be rung up per customer. I looked at the sign and nowhere on that sign did it say that. She was incredibly rude and quite frankly just power tripping over the fact that I was 7 items over the limit even though it was 3 separate orders. She almost ruined my chance at making money because she had an attitude problem and wanted to make up nonexistent rules. The sign does say 20 items or less but it does not say anything about 1 order per person. If I could give negative 5 stars I would because her attitude was completely uncalled for
Since saker bought the shoprite on fisher bay the place has gone down the tubes. There was a reason we never shoped at the one on rt37.

Lacking fresh produce more and more frequently. Only 3 cashiers open. Had a self check out line starting in aisle 5, but no signs to indicate it. Employees not helping when the self register is needing assistance.

I used to love this store. When they started doing self-check out years ago no one ever bothered me about the number of items I had because I am always quick and efficient with my check out. This week they began enforcing a limit of 20 items and food shopping is back to being a miserable experience of waiting in an slow-moving lines and being forced to talk to someone when you have diagnosed social anxiety and just want to be left alone. Also having an employee run at you to stop you from checking out is just ridiculous. Why do away with half of your cashier lines then enforce an absurd limit? You have new software to flag shop lifting. Forcing people to wait in a cashier line just because they have 25-30 items is nonsense.
Where to even start.. all new self check outs and you have to stand in a long line every single day to use the 3 they have open. They also every single day have 4-5 "cashiers" standing around doing nothing. So when I can't afford all of the groceries I need to feed my family the last thing I needed was a little young cashier scolding me for not telling someone to put the cereal back. Beyond disgusting how you treat loyal customers during a time when people can't even afford to eat.
Recently took away the no limit self checkout. Why? Now half the self checkouts are empty because people like me have more stuff, but half of the cashier lanes are CLOSED as well! So I’m forced to stand in a slow moving cashier line for a when I could’ve done this myself and been out the door 15 minutes ago. This is especially irritated for people like me who have anxiety and food shopping is already overstimulating.

The other day I had to refill my blood pressure meds and your phone lines were down so I had to drive there and the Pharmacist there. I think his name is Scott " bald Gentleman". told me my health coverage wants me to order through the mail and I told him I was completely out he was very sincere about the confusion and said there's nothing he can do so I walked out thinking that now I have so the mail order thing which I'm not crazy about but as I got in my car and started pulling away your Pharmacist knocked on my window said he figured out a way to help me. Just wanted to thank him and appreciate what some employees will do for their customers. Thanks and have a great day
ive dealt with this shoprite for the last 15 years. no more. in the last 18 months almost everytime ive gone food shopping ive gotten something moldy, spoiled or bad. the new ownership seems to be more concerned with rearranging the store and less concerned with product control. the "shop from home" employee shoppers are largely rude, pushing through the store with no consideration and many of the cashiers are old, rude and unpleasant. yesterday was my last time in this store. im not even going into the parking lot situation there....

I have been using this ShopRite for the last 25 years. In the last 1 year this store is the worst it has ever been. The biggest issue that turns a half hour visit into an hour and a half is the deli counter. Today at 3pm on a Saturday I got to the counter and drew number 11. They were serving number 8. It took a half hour for them to get to number 11. There were two associates behind the counter slicing. There were 5 others behind the counter in the various areas between the corner and the deli not counting seafood. These areas had no customer traffic however the line at the deli counter was 9 people deep by the time my number was called. Attached is a photo of the quality of sliced cheese from this visit. This has been a consistent issue at this store. Yes there is the quick grab items however I have found the shelf life is at least 2-3 days less than the fresh sliced and if you want roast beef, grab and go is not an option unless they sliced it that morning. The remaining portions of the store have been as you would expect from a well established supermarket. No issues with them and I would rate the supermarket 4 stars overall IF the deli counter was not such a constant problem.

The best Shop Rite in Ocean County. Well laid out, always good values and deals; staff are pleasant and the managers accommodating. Won't grocery shop anywhere else unless necessity arises.
