We have been visiting the Oregon Coast for the past 4 years now and during that time it's been a bit difficult to find good food to be honest. As we were driving down the coast I noticed a red food truck named Morels Restaurant. I'm big on yelp or any reviews because it gives me a better idea of whether or not I should stop at a place to eat. I have to admit there wasn't much except for 5 reviews on google but all of them had give positive reviews so I decided to give it a try. Let me tell you.... This food truck is delicious!!! It reminds me of homemade food my mom would make, it's so comforting especially when the weather outside is cold. We took everything to go but they do have one table under a tent set up for anyone looking to eat their food there. The service was friendly, fast and super helpful. I don't think we waited more than 10 minutes which was nice. My favorites are the chicken tamale (it's incredibly moist and melts in your mouth) and the potato empanadas. The tacos were filling and well made as well! I have visited their food truck twice now and plan on returning before we head back home. The menu also has a few other interesting items like ceviche, soups, fish and chips, and pastas. Go check them out. Guaranteed you'll love them too!

Wow this was a great surprise. A food truck that serves amazing food with large portions in Newport, Oregon. We love wild mushrooms and their pasta was to die for. We also had some rock fish tacos that were awesome. Great batter on the fish. Nice authentic fish taco. Then I saw the sea food lasagna, we will be back. They also have a great togo menu. What a relief to find a new restaurant in Newport that serves amazing sea food. They even have fish and chips. I hate to say it but there are only a few good restaurants to order sea food in Newport. This is a good one for sure. They are right off highway 101 in Newport.

We had the pupusa, tamale de pollo and rockfish tacos - all were great. The pupusa and tamale were my absolute favorite and I love that they came with a little curtido on the side. The orange salsa is really flavorful but one small critique I have is, make it spicier please!!
The rockfish tacos were crispy but from a flavor perspective, I would pick the pupusa and tamale hands down.

My favorite was the “rellenitos” which is black beans and plátano maduro deep fried. Their Guatemalan cheese is good too, it all goes well together. If you’re in town and want to try Guatemalan breakfast, you must stop by and try it out. 6 am to 10 am.

Wow, this place is awesome! I got the wild mushroom pasta with a cream sauce. It was enormous and full of delicious mushrooms! Lots of morels and it's enough to share. Specials written on paper in the window. I highly recommend this place.

Grabbed the beef stew, a papusa and a chicken tamale. The stew was delicious with generous chunks of beef. The papusa was amazing! The salsa that came with it was divine and so unique. It was sweet in a coy sort of way, a little heat with not too much bite. The tamale...do not sleep on the tamales! Those little banana leaf wrapped bundles are an experience all on their own. I cannot recommend this little cart enough!

Wow! This place is a gem. We stopped here on our way back up the coast after the long weekend and ordered the Wild Mushroom Pasta and Fish Tacos. Both were INCREDIBLE and huge portions enough to share (though we didn't want to lol). Super friendly service and we didn't have to wait too long
I wish we lived closer so we could come here more regularly. We'll definitely stop by again the next time we're in Newport!

Owner takes great care with making the meal delicious and fresh. The ceviche was the best I’ve had. The seafood pasta was cooked perfectly- not dry or tough from overcooking. Delicious!

The truck is called morels. There is presently only one dish, the mushroom pasta that had morels so I got it and it is terrific! The place mostly seems to be Salvadoran and I tried a pupusa also which was interesting and very good
